In 1995, Bandai launched a new product line termed the "Master Grade" series. Intended to showcase contemporary renditions of classic mecha designs, particularly, Gundam, it was an ambitious series hyped very heavily by Bandai that would showcase the advancements in engineering of model kits. As such a large majority of the kits featured re-worked proportions and displayed numerous features such as mechanical hatches and internal detail, previously unseen in GunPla at that scale. Modern MG kits now feature full internal skeletons allowing an immense range of movement and stability allowing perfect recreation of signature poses. Initially focusing on bringing UC mecha designs alive using modern day techniques, the Gundam MG line expanded to include other Gundam series including G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, Gundam 00 and Turn A Gundam.
