1/1000 Wave Motion Experiment Ship Ginga [3199]
The Bandai 1/1000 Wave Motion Experiment Ship Ginga [3199] (also known as BBY-03 Ginga or Experimental Ship of Transcendental Dimension Ginga) is a plastic model kit released by Bandai Spirits in January 2026 (Japan release date around January 9–10, 2026, with pre-orders starting earlier and international stock following shortly after). It is from the Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 anime film series (the latest chapter in the Space Battleship Yamato reboot timeline), depicting the Ginga — the sister ship to the legendary Yamato, designed as a next-generation Wave Motion energy research vessel but repurposed for defensive support during the Gatlantis Campaign.
This snap-fit kit (no glue required) features pre-colored parts for a clean out-of-box finish (gray/white hull with blue/red accents and detailed paneling), sharp molding with modern Bandai techniques, and effect parts to recreate the firing of the main gun. It stands approximately 35–40 cm (about 14–16 inches) long when assembled, offering a substantial yet display-friendly presence for fans of the Yamato franchise.
This kit is a must-have for Yamato fans, especially those following the Rebel 3199 storyline — its sister-ship design to Yamato, Wave Motion research theme, and firing effects make it perfect for dramatic displays or pairing with other 1/1000 Yamato kits (e.g., Yamato 2199/2202 versions). Builders praise the fine paneling, effect parts, and how it captures the ship's "next-generation" elegance.
