Real Grade (RG) MSN-02 Zeong (34) - 1/144 Scale
The RG 1/144 MSN-02 Zeong (RG #34) is a Real Grade plastic model kit released by Bandai in January 2021 (January 23 in Japan), commemorating the 40th anniversary of Gunpla. It recreates the MSN-02 Zeong, the ultimate prototype mobile armor from the original Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) anime, piloted by Char Aznable ("Red Comet") in the final battle against Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam at A Baoa Qu. This infamous legless, Psycommu-controlled behemoth features massive wire-guided Mega Particle Cannons, a mono-eye head, and overwhelming all-range firepower—making it one of the most iconic "final boss" suits in the franchise.
The kit stands impressively large for RG scale—approximately 18-20 cm (7-8 inches) tall once assembled (due to its bulky torso and thrusters), with pre-colored parts (no glue required), a highly detailed inner frame using advanced insert-molded joints, and exceptional articulation despite the design's limitations. It captures the Zeong's menacing silhouette, cable-guided arms, and psycho-frame-like details with sharp paneling and metallic accents—widely praised as one of the best RG kits for its size, presence, and engineering (often called "over the top" and a joy to build, especially for One Year War fans).
This kit is a centerpiece for Mobile Suit Gundam purists—its sheer scale, wired arms, and Char's final machine make it perfect for dramatic "all-range barrage" or head-detached poses on the shelf!
