Description

The HG 1/144 Light-Type Guncannon (also known as RGM-79 Light-Type Guncannon or Kei Kyanon / Light Cannon) is a High Grade model kit from Bandai Spirits, part of the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series (a modern Gundam anime/project set during the One Year War era).

It represents a lighter, more agile variant of the classic Guncannon concept — blending the heavy firepower of a Guncannon with the close-combat versatility and mobility of a Gundam-type MS. In-universe, it's described as a mass-production type developed by the Earth Federation Forces, emphasizing balanced performance for both mid-range artillery support and close-quarters fighting.

Kit Features & Design

This is a completely new molding (not a recolor of previous Guncannon kits), with a sleeker, lighter-armor aesthetic compared to the bulky classic RX-77 Guncannon. Builders often note it as one of the easier and more straightforward kits in the GQuuuuuuX line, with good color separation in the runner parts.
